Silly Frogs Are The Best Frogs
For too long, the silly frog has languished in the shadows of more celebrated amphibians. The tree frog gets all the glamour. The poison dart frog gets all the press. But what of the frog who simply sits on a lily pad making a face? What of the frog who leaps slightly to the left when it clearly meant to go right? These frogs — our frogs — deserve a day.
National Silly Frog Day exists to honor the frogs who are a little goofy, a little uncoordinated, and entirely lovable because of it. We celebrate the bloop of the pond, the unexpected ribbit, the wide-eyed stare into the middle distance. To lift up a silly frog is to say: you are enough, exactly as you are.
On this day, we ask everyone to pause, appreciate at least one silly frog in their life, and perhaps be a little silly themselves. The world is better for it.
